My practice explores the intersections of papier-mâché, textiles, anatomy, and addiction. Through sculptural forms, I explore the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of dependency and its lasting effects on the family, body, and mind. Much of my work is grounded in research on materiality, the physical properties, histories, and emotional associations embedded in the materials I choose to transform symbols of ritual, surrender, and harm into objects of reflection, crafted from textiles and papier-mache materials that reveal the tension between the tenderness of lived experience and the realities of addiction. Each piece invites empathy rather than judgment, turning instruments of dependency into vessels of understanding. These pieces are not intended to glorify or condemn, but to confront.
